Below, we’ve compiled some of our most popular frequently asked family dentistry questions and their answers so that this information is more easily accessible. If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, though, don’t hesitate to contact us directly in Hampton, NH.
Do you see children?
Yes! Our full name is Smiles by the Sea Family Dentistry, and we’re happy to care for teeth at every stage of development, including your littlest loved ones. Dr. Shevchenko is a mother herself, and her patient, gentle demeanor can help even young children feel right at home in the treatment chair. Our goal is to establish the building blocks for lifelong oral health!
How many times should I visit the dentist each year?
In most cases, we recommend scheduling a dedicated checkup and cleaning every six months, or twice each calendar year. If a patient has outlying circumstances, such as a predisposition to tooth decay or existing gum disease, our team may decide that more common visits (such as every three to four months) may better serve their smile’s continuing wellbeing. We will be sure to let you know our recommendation during your appointment here in Hampton.
I’m having a dental emergency! Can you help?
Absolutely! Dr. Shevchenko never wants to leave patients waiting for the relief they so desperately need after a severe dental injury and/or oral pain – that’s why she accommodates emergency situations
ASAP. In most cases, we can even fit you or your family member in for an appointment on the same day as your initial call.
Can you improve the way my smile looks?
Yes. Our comprehensive menu of services features several cosmetic options
that are specifically designed to elevate the appearance and confidence of your unique smile! After a one-on-one discussion with Dr. Shevchenko, she may recommend professional teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, metal-free restorative work, direct bonding, or some combination of the above in order to form the ideal makeover plan.
Are dental implants really the best way to replace missing teeth?
While no service can be “perfect” for every single patient in need, dental implants
do provide several valuable advantages that span beyond the limits of traditional reconstructive procedures. Their comprehensive structure, which rebuilds the natural root of the tooth in addition to the visible white crown, is much healthier for the patient’s jawbone, and the final result will be virtually seamless from both an aesthetic and functional viewpoint. If you’re not sure whether or not you’re a good candidate for dental implants, don’t hesitate to contact Smiles by the Sea – we’d be happy to discuss this transformative service with you in greater detail!
Do you take dental insurance?
Absolutely. Our Hampton, NH practice is a proud in-network provider with CIGNA and Delta Dental, and we will also file claims for several other major PPO insurances. To learn more about available payment options, please visit our new patients page
